Sequential Logic in Creation
Arrival of the serpent
Chapter 8
Did the serpent appear on his own like a thief or was it the Omnipotent, Omniscient and the Omnipresent One the fully in control God who sent him?
Why we need SL?
[Answer] When you start buttoning your shirt by sliding buttons into wrong holes and then end up off the intended line, so it is with a lot of ideas today, which we must unbutton and then re-button again if we want to get closer to God and know Him in truth.
Once we button up correctly, in the very beginning; the end will prove also to be correct.
Clearly, Genesis 3:1 mentions a beast of the field, not an angel or human-like being. However, the word for serpent is NACHASH translated as serpent. Another used word for serpent in the Bible is TANNIN [serpent, dragon, sea monster]; it appears quite infrequently, just in three places: EXODUS 7:9; EXODUS 7:10 & PSALMS 91:13, but these places speak about a reptile that crawls on the ground, not a beast or even cattle.
Now, let SL have its superior way for before we run to any conclusions we must, from the very onset, see the original truth about this mysterious being.
A snake is called SHEFIFON and appears only once in GEN 49:17 "Dan shall be a serpent [NACHASH] in the way, A horned snake [SHEFIFON] in the path that bites the horse's heels, So that his rider falls backward.'
History showed that this prophecy was true for Danites proved to be quite ruthless.
The word NACHASH is used quite frequently throughout the Bible: GEN 3:1; GEN 3:2; GEN 3:4; GEN 3:13; GEN 3:14; GEN 49:17; EXOD 4:3; EXOD 7:15; NUMB 21:9; 2KINGS 18:4; JOB 26:13; PSALMS 58:4; PSALMS 140:3; PROV 23:32; PROV. 30:19; ECC 10:8; ECCL. 10:11; ISAIAH 27:1; JEREMIAH 46:22; AMOS 9:3 & MICAH 7:17.
Logic tells us that since this name was so widely used it carries a greater baggage of meaning then just being a literal representation of the reptile. Another word for snake is EPHEH [Isaiah 30:6 & 59:5] and QIPPOZ [Isaiah 34:15]. PSALMS 140:3 uses the word AKSHUB for a viper, and PROV 23:32 & Isaiah 14:29 uses the word TSEPHA for the same.
ISAIAH 30:6 From where come lioness and lion, viper EPHEH and flying serpent SARAPH... ' [fiery flying serpent also used in ISAIAH 14:29].
Just in case some of you have been indoctrinated by authoritative 'half and quarter' truths we are about to shock you. It would be good to remind ourselves how poorly educated we are and in need of learning, let us be stupid so that we might become wiser.
[PSALMS 94:8] Pay heed, you senseless among the people and when will you understand you stupid ones'
ISAIAH 6:2 Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
ISAIAH 6:6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, with a burning coal in his hand which he had taken from the altar with tongs.
SARAPH is just one angelic being within an order of God's angels - SERAPHIM - in plural]
Back to Angels
PSALMS 104:4 He makes the winds His messengers, Flaming fire His ministers. Hebrews 1:7 And of the angels He says, "Who makes His angels winds, And His ministers a flame of fire."
MATTHEW 22:30 "For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.
Hebrews 1:13-14 But to which of the angels has He ever said, "Sit at My right hand, Until I make Thine enemies A footstool for Thy feet"' Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation'
Flames, winds, ministering fleshless spirits, SERAPHIM are ministers of God involved in worship, service and distribution of gifts.
[ACTS 2:3] And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them.
Let us fasten these meanings together and make one clear understanding.
First of all
Angels are genderless, they do not marry, either are they able to, for they are not flesh or blood, but fleshless spiritual beings. Therefore, they could never come down to earth to take fleshly women for themselves and produce giants.
Later on the reader will know where the giants came from for we will understand the logical simplicity of the words used in the Bible.
Next
Angels are winds (RUACH means wind or spirit in Hebrew), so they are spirits; again, not flesh and blood.
Next
Angels are like flames and the order of angels, especially the Seraphim, deal with the aspect of fire; they have wings, some of them even three pairs (Isaiah 6) and appear as flames or even as tongues of fire (even those that appeared upon the disciples in the Book of Acts 2), something to do with refinement and purity. The perception of Seraphim can be terrifying, viewed as something terrible and evil; Ezekiel saw them and was startled.
In time, as God was slowly withdrawing from us, folkloric legends turned their appearances into fairytales of the spooky kind.
The Greek mythological world transformed angels into some gods that supposedly cased conflicts and wars, also produce offspring and from these myths, the mythical goddess Europa was born. From this mixture of truth and myth evolved a theology of heavenly wars with which the pagan world still struggles.
The sovereignty of the Almighty has no foothold in the minds of the ex-pagans, now proud of calling themselves Christians. Jews also have demons, and Kabalistic dragons, which obviously shows a heavy pagan influence, therefore all of us must be cleansed and freed from this nonsense if we truly want to know our Father.
Truth is one and God the Almighty is one
The New Testament uses one Greek word for snake, OPHIS and below we have a list of the old and New Hebrew words describing this crawling venomous creature.
▪ NACHASH - The name used for the beat of the field a serpent
▪ TANNIN - Serpent, dragon, sea monster
▪ SHEFIFON - a snake that has horns
▪ EPHEH - Viper
▪ QIPPOZ - A biting on the heel snake
▪ AKSHUB - Viper biting snake
▪ TSEPHA - Viper biting snake
▪ SARAPH - Fiery flying serpent, also an order of God's angels
[Fiery Serpents - NECHASHIM SERAPHIM]
[NUMBERS 21:6, 8-9] And the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. (8)Then the Lord said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he shall live." (9) And Moses made a bronze [NECHOSHETH] serpent and set it on the standard; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived.
This standard in Hebrew is called NES [an ensign, signal, sign] something hoisted above people on a post or a tree. Whoever looked upon that hated creature was delivered from its deadly effect. The proper teaching here is that NES serves as a sign of redemption, for every bite there is an antidote; and anti-venom is produced from a particular snake's venom; something lost can be redeemed, etc.
The word for bronze or copper is NECHASH and something made out of it is NECHOSHETH or something that is made of NACHUSH. From this comes the subsequent Israelite idolatrous worship of NECHUSHTAN. These are just general sounds of the Hebrew tongue in which the Bible was written.
Common logic tells us that beasts do not speak with intelligent voices so that a human being can understand. But in Genesis 3 the beast of the field - NACHASH - does speak with Eve; so the present day logic cannot be used here simply because what we understand today would not fit in a category of that, which happened before the seduction of Eve. There must have been something of a purely spiritual nature, which only the heavenly logic can explain.
God was about to teach us what it means to have the knowledge and then how to use it. One knowledge conveys the RAH [something of a curse a bitter affliction - ARROR], and the other is the antidote, which is an experience of deliverance from evil then what follows is a choice, but that choice must be a wise one, but how can one be wise without first comprehending the given knowledge? Therefore, God gave us first the EXPERIENCE OF COMPREHENSION whose end-result is wisdom.
God is the beginning and the end of all things, the absolute ruler, sovereign and the fully in charge one. He created all things amongst whom also the beasts of the field, which Adam had named. Adam and Eve named all things living thereby they ruled over them, consequently it was Adam that named NACHASH, but this creature did not crawl on the ground yet for that happened later; that creature is called NACHASH for this word denotes something shining, golden and coppery. He was seductively beautiful, some kind of an artistic creature with persuasive abilities and like polished metal it was reflecting light.
Seraphim were already with Elohim when He was creating the new world, but just as an angel of the Lord was used to open the mouth of a dumb beast in the Book of Numbers so it had to be the same in Genesis 3.
Read [NUMB 22] (22) But God was angry because he was going, and the angel of the Lord took his stand in the way as an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey and his two servants were with him. (28) And the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times'" (32) And the angel of the Lord said to him, "Why have you struck your donkey these three times' Behold, I have come out as an adversary, because your way was contrary to me.
The Adversary in Hebrew is called TSUR and in these verses the angel of the Lord is MADE TO BE Balaam's TSUR adversary, but the word TSUR is not being used there... What is that word?
MALAK - an angel
The angel of the Lord became an ADVERSARY and the word used here is SATAN. That means that the angel of the Lord stood there to oppose the son of Beor for he was hired to curse the children of Israel; God was angry with him and stood AGAINST him and God had actually became his ADVERSARY - SATAN. God used one of His MALAK to oppose and to speak through Balaam's donkey. Imagine, a dumb donkey spoke with legible voice.
Numbers 22 (only in Hebrew texts) uses the word SATAN for the angel of the Lord. God turned His own angel, temporarily, to be Balaam's adversary simply because of Balaam's folly.
But that angel was not the Satan lots of Christians talk about, it was an angel of the Lord doing his job for if indeed it was Satan - according to the present day understanding - then we are in deep trouble; our logic is no longer straight and clear.
Having understood the elements of wind and fire, which the spirits/angels epitomize, but just in the physical realm, we may also understand that God spoke through a SARAPH, which Moses identified as a burning bush.
This world is ruled by fear and superstition and we have difficulties with straight and truthful perceptions of something that comes from the world of the spirit so we interpret them, compare and liken to something we have seen; some interpret them through the God-given abilities others use their own spooky minds. The moment we leave this fragmented by time world we will behold the oneness of God's world as He made it and not as we perceive it right now.
Today, many believe that Satan does only evil therefore it would have been his job to encourage Balaam to curse Israel rather than to try to hold him back from continuing on his journey with the intent to satisfy Balak and curse Israel. Many hold on to the belief that Satan wants to destroy the church because it is doing such a great job at defeating him. It would have to be the same with the angel of the Lord who made himself into Balaam's adversary, this angel would have rather encouraged the seer to go ahead and curse God's people. Nonetheless, what we actually witness here is God's anger burning against the seer. God Himself in fact opposed the seer because the son of Beor kept going and God saw the true intent of his heart.
When Balaam had confessed his sin God permitted him to go on, but speak only that which He Himself would put in his mouth and so instead of cursing Balaam blessed God's people. Nonetheless, as we read it later on, Balaam was killed for his own sin (Numbers 31:16), for his own greed for his intention to do the bidding of the King of Moab rather than God's.
There is nothing to defeat or fight against, but only the rebellious flesh of ours, which sees wars in heaven as it sees them and causes them down here on earth. It is the flesh that seeks to blame some celestial being for its own evil, from this root stem fantasies and superstitious folkloric imaginations, which have nothing to do with the truth, but are an entertainment for the sensationalism-starved mind.
We are known by our fruits not by our gifts.
▪ The Hebrew text of the Bible contains Satan as Adversary only in these places: NUMB 22:22 & 32; 1SAM 29:4, 19:22; 1KINGS 5:4; 11:14, 23, 25.
▪ The English translations of the Bible contain names of Satan only in 1CHRONICLES 21:1; JOB 1:6-9, 12; 2:1-7; ZECHARIAH 3:1-2]
Let us see now Genesis 3 in a different light, which is only now accessible after centuries-long ignorance.
NACHASH is picked by no one else, but God Himself.
[Q] What is the purpose?
[A] To bring about an educational experience; but why?
God was the only one possessing the knowledge He was introducing us to, the knowledge of TOV & RAH, something good that is only UNDERSTOOD, APPRECIATED, and handled wisely, but in the presence of the opposite kind - evil.
Evil had to be experienced first so that one could embrace the good, without these two our grasp of knowledge would be incomplete and inadequate according to God's standard [NES]. The standard had to be set and one has to embrace it - choose.
God had sent a creature and it was He who opened his mouth, just as it was He who opened the mouth of Balaam's donkey; one of His angles, most likely SARAPH, was used to accomplish His holy will.
NAHASH was only a dumb physical creature, but God used it to accomplish something drastic. In the old days teachers were permitted to strike students if they did not learn, these were drastic measures and I wonder where have they learned them?
